What We Believe

The Bible – 2 Timothy 3:16

We believe all Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Jesus is The Word and Son of God – John 1:14
And the Word became and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the
Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus, Conceived by the Holy Spirit – Matthew 1:20
As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

Our Creator – Colossians 1:16
For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities–all things have been created through Him and for Him.

Salvation only through Jesus – Acts 2:21, 4:12, John 14:6
Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord, shall be saved.

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The Promise of the Holy Spirit – John 16:7
But in fact, it is best for you that I go because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come.
If I do go away, then I will send him to you.

Water Baptism – 3:11
Truly, I give baptism with water to those of you whose hearts are changed; but he who comes after me is greater than I, whose shoes I am not good enough to take up: he will give you baptism with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

First Coming of Jesus Christ – Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Second Coming of Jesus Christ – Hebrews 9:28, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

We Will Be Judged – 2 Corinthians 5:10, Ezekiel 3:17–19
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin, but you will have saved yourself.

Spiritual Gifts, Prophesy – Joel 2:28-29
It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind and your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

Spiritual Gifts, Speaking in Tongues – 1 Corinthians
Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up….

Spiritual Gifts, Serving In – 1 Peter 4:10
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

Serving – Matthew 6:1, Matthew 23:11, Colossians 3:23-24
Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.

The greatest among you will be your servant.

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

Giving – Galatians 6:10, 2 Corinthians 9:6
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

Love – Romans 12:9-13, 1 Corinthians 13:2
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.  Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

And if I should have prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

Missions – Isaiah 6:8, Matthew 28:18-20
Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said,
“Here am I. Send me!

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Fasting – Matthew 6:16-18
And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Purity – 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Hebrews 13:4
For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality.

Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

Jesus is Our Redeemer – 1 John 4:10
This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
